“Diagnostic Tests”

Life – Terror. Ecstasy. Fight. Denial. Flight. Failure. PAIN. Forgiveness. Reconciliation. Hope. Love. Peace – Death

Hi John,

I hope you are keeping well.

We shared your video “diagnostic tests” at the most recent Cheshire and Merseyside Cancer Alliance Diagnostic Delivery Board and the team wanted to pass on their sincere thanks to you for sharing your experience.

They said:

The DDB group has asked to pass on our thanks to John for sharing his story and to make him aware his story has been shared at a senior level, and that actions are being taken as a result of his experiences. Particularly around informed consent and patient choice and where to receive treatment.

The Programme Director Tracey Cole-Wetherill also wanted to pass on her thanks directly. She has said:

Dear John,

Today (8 Jan 2026) we watched your patient story in the Cheshire and Merseyside Diagnostic Board. I wanted to get in touch to thank you personally and let you know how impactful your video was. There was a good discussion after the presentation with many senior staff contributing with some excellent comments. You story has helped us to:

·       reinforce our policy of always offering patients earlier appointments (when available) in other sites so that they have choice to travel if they wish to

·       think more about how we support people to make decisions about their treatment

And with your consent, we would like to pass your story on to other departments and trusts so that staff can think more about communication with patients whilst they are waiting as we understand that this is was for you one of the hardest parts of your journey.

I wish you all the very best, thank you again for all your support,

Tracey Cole-Wetherill

Could you please let me know if you are happy for your story to be shared more widely, please?

Thank you ever so much for all your time and commitment. Your involvement is making a huge impact across Cheshire and Merseyside.

#Peace
