A Wonderful Li e

Life

Sixty-four years in and as I near my end what (if anything) have I learned?

“I have no desire to fit in. No plans to walk with the crowd. I have my own mind, heart and soul. I am me and it has taken me years to realize how important that is.” ― R.M. Drake

The most difficult of all truths…. “Above all, don’t lie to yourself”.

“The man who lies to himself and listens to his own lie comes to a point that he cannot distinguish the truth within him, or around him, and so loses all respect for himself and for others”. “And having no respect he ceases to love”.~ Fyodor Dostoevsky (The Brothers Karamazov)

Sixty-four years in and what do I know?

I know this…the more I think I know, the more I know I don’t know that much at all (Riff, 2022).

“To regret one’s own experiences is to arrest one’s own development. To deny one’s own experiences is to put a lie into the lips of one’s own life. It is no less than a denial of the soul” (Oscar Wilde).
