The UK General Election 4th July 2024
As we get closer to the 4th July the UK Election Media Frenzy is working over-time. With every day that passes everything is being ramped up to boiling point. We are bombarded from all areas, TV, Social Media, Radio, Mainstream paper media with, ‘election this’ and ‘election that’. The Media seems to be largely focused on spotlighting two of the main political puppets, wannabe prime minister Starmer & wannabe billionaire Sunak. We are being steadily, steered, directed, towards, ‘The Establishments’ choice? Who, The Establishment, have decided will be in number 10 in 3 weeks time. The Establishments Choice, who will do the least to disrupt the current status quo].
We are constantly subjected to conscious and subliminal manipulation, so much that it is difficult to think in contrast to anything we are bombarded with. We are brain-washed into thinking in a certain direction? We might think we have choices, that we have come to our own conclusions but have we? Everything we see, hear and transmit for ourselves is filtered and controlled.
If could just think for a second. Consider why we are voting for a person (or not)? Why we do not go beyond a face? We are media spoon-fed, pushed, dragged, persuaded to vote for whom the media decide to portray is the better person rather than what, that persons political party represents. Personality, image, has become, is, more important than what their ‘Parties’ represent, stands for, or will, or will not, do. Image is, completely, controlled, promoted or destroyed by the media. In effect the Media programmes us who to vote for.
Vote for Policies
With 3 weeks to go all the main political parties [plus a handful of minority also-rans], have published their election manifestos [see link below for a summary]. There is still plenty of time to read them in full. Even if it is just the highlights you read, you can then make an informed decision as to which political party you will trust with your vote. Which PP will you trust to drag the UK from the bleakest period of our social, economical and ecological history within the past 80 years?
It literally boils my piss when I hear (today on Radio 5 Live), ‘he has done his best’, ‘I will vote Torie despite having received no help during lockdown/furlough and despite my daughter (a professional musician), also receiving nothing, my daughter will also vote Torie’.
Why?
Have you been living on Mars these past 14 years? Living in an alternative universe? There’s the rub? They have. Their news, their media, is relative to their bubble (largely in the South). Their quality of life, is largely worse to those living in the North. How would they know any different? Unless you, can be arsed to, examine it. To question it? Spend some time authenticating, researching, fact checking and not just accept an ‘I’m alright Jack’ on face value, safe existence.
Voting is a responsibility. A, precious, hard earned right.
Many people have died in order for us to vote.
Don’t be manipulated into voting for a face, a person? Vote for Policies.
My vote for Labour will not be for Sir Keith the Empty suit. My vote is for Policies [Energy GP, Removing Charitable Status from Elite Public Schools, Non-Dom Tax Crackdown]. A Party who, at least, pretends to have intentions of making things better ‘for most people’. As opposed to a Party that has no intention of such. A Party, that literally despises the working man, the nurses, the teaches, the ‘poor’, yes the POOR I say? We have never had more working adults, more children living in poverty, today in the UK, the 8th largest economy in the world, since WW11.
Will Labour do better? Can they do better?
Labour are inheriting a total shit-show of a World-wide, economical, confrontational, and ecological mess, however, based upon the past 14 years, ‘they could not possibly do worse’? When I, publicly criticise Sir Keith’s Labour for holding back, for not going further, some of my friends say, ‘nothing could be worse than another Torie term?. I agree, that is, until Labour get their chance to get their own snouts in the ruling party money trough? In 5 years will we end up with the same old same old.
I wish Labour had the strength in their convictions to ‘say more’ to ‘promise & do more‘ to be, ‘more Labour’? A party that goes further in truly representing the interests of working men and women of this country. To stop kissing the arses of Israel & the good old US of A. Sadly they not? Maybe they will once in power? Or are the lefty Labour days gone forever, The Establishment will not allow a return to a Lefty Labour. Play the game Starmer, and you will get your name in the history books? ‘One step at a time, some of my friends tell me, just wait until Labour are in power, you will see?’
Time will tell.
Of all the manifesto’s I have read, ‘The Greens’, appeals to me the most. Eas(ier), to do perhaps, when you know you haven’t got a hope in Hells chance of actually winning an election and delivering a manifesto.
Vote wisely. Consider not just to vote for yourself, for now? Think about the future.
Even if that’s only for your Children, grandchildren and their children? The world has reached an urgent, pivotal stage in its history. Tens of decades of abuse, waste and greed have left unequivocal scars. Decisions we make now could potentially destroy our planet for future generations, for those who we love. Or what we do now might ensure their future.
